Mary Anning was born in 1799 the daughter of a carpenter in Lyme Regis. She discovered fossils along the crumbling coastline and became much respected in scientific circles. She wore atop hat as some protection from falling rocks. I have imagined her as fossilized and meeting a prehistoric creature. For more exhibitions
